Reference photo information
Here are some examples of bad photographs. The lighting and distance can really make a difference as far as detail goes. Sometimes the lighting can change the colour of fur or hair. This makes it hard for me as I'm unable to guess the actual fur colour. The position of the animal/person also makes a difference and so do any accessories. Please bear this in mind also when choosing a reference photo.
Here are some examples of good photographs. They are taken so there's enough clear detail and the lighting is good and hasn't changed any colours of the animal/person. The better quality the photo I'm working on the better the portrait I can draw and the less disappointment my customer will feel.
